Easy Workouts To Lose Weight After Pregnancy

One of the first things moms often want to do after they have recovered from giving birth is to lose that pregnancy weight. Gone are the months when you had a good excuse for carrying around extra weight. Now it’s time to get serious about getting back into shape.

This sounds like a great plan, but how are you supposed to fit working out in with all of your new responsibilities? Well, now that the baby is here, you’ve got your own little workout partner that can make getting into shape a cinch. Your new baby is the perfect workout partner – one that you can actually use for resistance exercises.

If you’ve ever done a hard leg workout, you know that squats can be brutal. To take the edge off of doing squats, while still getting all the benefits, try doing them while holding your little one. You won’t be as tempted to quit doing squats when you see that precious little face looking back at you and having a great time going up and down. Squat down only as deep as you can go without compromising your balance and be sure to hold on tight to your little workout partner. Counting out loud and talking to your baby while you do your squats is a great bonding experience that will help you take the pounds off and tone the muscles of your legs.

Go out for a Quick Run

Instead of investing in an expensive gym membership or paying for a personal trainer, think about getting a jogging stroller. There are some very nice jogger strollers available that make it easy to get in some road work with your little workout buddy. There are a few types of jogging strollers available. There are even double jogger strollers for moms with twins or two young ones. This is one piece of workout equipment that won’t sit in the corner collecting cobwebs. Upper Body Baby-Presses

Don’t neglect strengthening and toning your upper body muscles. Lay down on the floor with your baby on your chest. Get a good, secure hold on your little one and push them up in the air. Hold the arms, fully extended for a two count and then lower your baby back down slowly and give him/her a quick snuggle. Repeat for 8 to 15 repetitions and then rest on the floor with your baby for a minute. Repeat this cycle 2 to 4 times for a great upper body workout.

Be sure to check with your doctor before you start exercising. Once you have the doc’s clearance start doing some of these exercises a few times a week. You’ll love seeing the weight come off and your baby will benefit from all the stimulation and bonding time with mommy. Take things slow in the beginning and before you know it the pounds will be melting off.
